Peter Jan Rijpkema, professionally known as KULI, is a Deaf DJ and producer from Zwolle, the Netherlands. Despite being diagnosed with meningitis at just three months old, which caused him to lose his hearing, KULI’s love for music never waned. In fact, he discovered his passion for music production after his cochlear implant operation at the age of 5, which enabled him to hear again.

KULI’s first experience of music was Armin van Buuren’s “Mirage” playing on the radio when he was 11 years old, and this sparked his interest in music production. He received his first laptop from his dad and installed FL Studio, which marked the beginning of his musical journey.

Since then, KULI has made a name for himself in the music industry with his unique blend of funky and groovy music. He has garnered over a million streams on Spotify and has received support from prominent figures in the scene, including Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, and many more.
